It's Pride Month.
In the heart of the movements for LGBTQ liberation & rights, across many decades and numerous generations, pulses the desire for the freedom to openly create loving connections. During Pride month, LGBTQ people celebrate historic victories over the discrimination facing our communities, confirm our resilience and perseverance, and re-dedicate ourselves to the cause of justice. And the cause of love.
Oppression --- and resistance --- have their costs. One of those often appears in the form of toxic, difficult dynamics in the very relationships we struggle to have recognized and legitimized. It can feel ironic and disheartening to "fight the good fight" for LGBTQ rights, safety, and inclusion if your love life is full of drama, confusion, angst and "fighting bad fights." The good news: despite the ways oppression and lack of positive role models can set up these dynamics, you don't have to stay stuck in them. Just as social change is possible, personal change is possible. And in a world in which many LGBTQ people feel especially vulnerable right now, it's more important than ever that our closest relationships feel solid and strong.
In order to help meet that need, I've teemed up with Ruth Schwatrz, Ph.D., co-founder of Conscious Girlfriend, to create a special five-week Roller Coaster Relationship Seminar for lesbians and queer women, starting this month. Over the course of five weeks, we will explore toxic relationship dynamics, the histories that make people vulnerable to romantic entanglements, and a raft of skills that will help everyone in the class create the kinds of positive, nurturing, empowering relationships they desire. Each week, course participants will receive an audio lesson I create and two hours of live coaching with Ruth and me, so that they can maximize their growth, knowledge, and ability to transform their relationships.
It's Pride Month. People in same-sex or queer relationships deserve to be proud not only of our movements and communities, but also of our relationships. Our love lives can offer celebration, security, and support --- and as we live in relationships with these qualities, we have more energy to engage in the work of transforming the world.
You can read more about the course on my "Global Lesbian Love Lab" page or register at the link below. Ruth and I will also be offering a free teleclass on roller coaster relationship recovery for lesbian and queer women this upcoming Thursday, June 8.

I appreciate the opportunity to work with women and men, heterosexual and LGBTQ people, cis and trans folks, and monogamous and poly people all over the world and at home in Madison, Wisconsin, on the project of making the planet a better place by creating happier relationship lives. However you identify and whomever you choose to love, thank you for your efforts to create more peace and love in the world, and for passing info about this special Pride Month course along to anyone who might need it.
